Scams & Impersonation
The pause is the move.
Recognize the pressure. Verify who is really asking.
Unexpected messages, calls and requests across devices and services.
01 / Answer
What you need to know.
A familiar name is not proof of identity. When a message pushes you to act immediately, pause and verify the request through a separate channel you already trust.
02 / Check
Look before you act.
- Look for pressure to send money, share a code, open an attachment or sign in through a supplied link.
- Ask whether you expected the request. Do not use the contact details inside a suspicious message to verify that same message.
03 / Do
Make one useful change.
- Open the official app yourself, or contact the person using a number you already know.
- Report suspicious messages using your service’s reporting option. Do not reply with passwords, one-time codes or payment details.
04 / Verify
Check the change stuck.
- Confirm the request independently before taking action.
- If you already shared a password or payment information, contact the account or payment provider through its official channel and use its recovery process.
